Wisdom teeth, especially impacted ones, commonly manifest with severe toothache. This pain can damage adjacent teeth and lead to various dental problems. In addition to toothache, redness, swelling, tenderness, and difficulty swallowing in the wisdom tooth area are also common symptoms.
In some cases, wisdom teeth may not cause any problems. However, due to their challenging location, they are difficult to clean and thus may be more prone to decay and gum disease compared to other teeth. Impacted wisdom teeth that cause pain or other dental complications usually require surgical extraction.
