Osteoporosis is also a significant health concern in men. While osteoporosis is observed in 1 out of every 2 women over 50, it is encountered in 1 out of every 5 men over 50. In the presence of risk factors (such as cortisone use, organ transplantation, immunosuppressive drugs, diabetes, thyroid diseases, other endocrine disorders disrupting hormonal balance, and cancer treatments), osteoporosis can also be seen in men under 50. Furthermore, due to genetic predisposition, cases of unknown cause (idiopathic) osteoporosis can also emerge in young men.
