Infants affected by Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP) are at an elevated risk of developing various ocular complications later in life. These include conditions such as retinal detachment, strabismus (crossed eyes), refractive errors, cataracts, glaucoma, and amblyopia (lazy eye). While similar to eye problems seen in other children, these issues tend to occur with greater frequency in individuals with a history of ROP. Notably, glaucoma and cataracts are more commonly anticipated following ROP surgery.
