Following parathyroid surgery, patients' calcium and PTH levels are regularly monitored. Although rare, a rise in these levels can be observed post-surgery. This situation might be due to the presence of additional adenomas not detected during the initial operation, or the development of a new adenoma. If calcium and PTH levels, which remained normal or low for at least one year after surgery, begin to rise, it may indicate a recurrence of parathyroid disease.
