On the first evening after lip filler, a slight fullness or burning sensation due to swelling can commonly be observed. For such situations, simple painkillers and the application of a cold compress are usually sufficient and provide relief. It is beneficial to apply a cold compress after the procedure to reduce the risk of swelling and bruising. However, conditions such as sudden and progressively worsening pain or pallor/whitening of the lip during or after the lip filler procedure are not considered normal. These symptoms may indicate that the filler has been injected into a blood vessel and require immediate medical attention. In such a case, it is vitally important to contact the surgeon who performed the procedure or an experienced plastic surgeon immediately.
