Additional parameters such as PSA velocity (annual rate of increase), PSA density (ratio of PSA value to prostate volume), and PSA doubling time have been investigated with the aim of making the diagnosis more precise. However, studies have shown that these parameters do not provide a significant additional benefit to the diagnostic contribution of PSA alone.
