In our country, the National Newborn Hearing Screening Program aims to screen all newborn babies for hearing.

The Clinical BERA/ABR test is applied in the following situations and to the following individuals:

* Newborns who fail the hearing screening or have risk factors for hearing loss.
* During the differential diagnosis of auditory neuropathy.
* Patients for whom responses need to be clarified in other audiological tests.
* In the differentiation of cochlear or retrocochlear dysfunctions (determining whether the hearing impairment originates from the inner ear or the auditory nerve).
* For intraoperative monitoring (continuous monitoring of the brain, spinal cord, and neural pathways during surgery or other procedures).
* For determining the hearing threshold in pediatric patients before hearing aid fitting.
* For differential diagnosis and follow-up in cases of suspected or diagnosed pontocerebellar angle tumor.
* In special patient groups where traditional audiological test batteries cannot be used (e.g., Autism, Down Syndrome, paralyzed patients, dementia, etc., representing neurodevelopmental or neurological disorders).
