Lung collapse surgery is a minimally invasive procedure performed in cases of pneumothorax-type lung collapse. The air-filled section around the lung is removed. A portion of the lung pleura is also removed during the procedure.

In cases of atelectasis-type lung collapse, treatment is usually performed via bronchoscopy.
